The Plough

The Plough is the smallest of the 3 remaining public houses in the village, situated opposite the George & Dragon and next to the Village Store/Post Office.

This is one of the most unusual pubs in the village. You enter the pub through a narrow passage way. This passage was once uncovered and used as a pathway to the Hell Fire Caves, perhaps this was the route taken by the Lady in White, who is said to haunt the village. From the passage you enter the ground floor bar with its ancient beams, stone floor and wood burning stove. The bar is cool in the summer and warm and cosy in the winter.
